An Icon of Serpents
I’ve taken another break from updating the website as I’m currently attempting at bringing this beast “up to code”. I hope you will enjoy a rather special piece completed a while ago (along with its companion drawing) while I'm working on numerous exciting commissions and revamping the site.

One of the most esteemed collectors of my work, Mr. Paul Bland has kindly provided yet another glimpse of his vault of magic. This time it is "Blood of a Poet" in the company of Austin Spare's "The Cave" and prints from the legendary "Book of Satyrs". Beautiful!

The Sun of Circles and Wood

My artist's copies of the latest Dead Reptile Shrine album arrived yesterday! The double record of both hypnotic and horrifying music from Finland boasts some splendid presentation! The cover features an early stage of the study for Head of Messiah. You can pick up a copy at the Weird Forest store.

"Her Miserable Supper" prints are sold out. I'm planning to start a mailing list, which would include allcollectors who have ever purchased art from me. I'd like devoted fans to have a chance to reserve copies of all editions sold throughwww.denisforkas.com a few days before official online announcements and thus make sure they don't sleep on something special.

Blood of a Poet
After much travelling, strange commissions and New Year's Eve revelations I'm back home and ready to share the fruits of my work here again.
For starters, the long-promised lithograph, "Blood of a Poet" is finally available from the Shop. The accompanying article dicsusses the composition's esoteric origins. I hope it was worth the wait.

«La Volupté m'appelle et l'Amour me couronne!»
A couple of years ago my friend Vladimir gave me a Venetian baùtta mask made by a crafty Russian master. Its dramatic curves and red silicone skin yearned for a golden touch, but as I loathed the idea of coming up with your average masque of red death it took some time before I could give it the touch it desired.
This scarred and painted mask is an incantation, a small verse that has taken a facial shape in order to serve as a shield for magician’s silent rapture. Burned by the breath of mighty Typhon the poet conjures his word of prey and welcomes Mother Night’s eternal carnival.
The artifact heralds the coming of “Blood of a Poet” lithographs. Thank you for your patience, my friends.

Laying on of Hands
Last couple of months proved to be a time of trial. Numerous injuries, failed experiments, a terrible flu and violated deadlines all rolled up into a huge ball of devil’s hair and it took so much effort to get out of it that I feel positively drained.

Among many things I’ve recently completed there is a rather special
drawing, “Healing Spell”, which I’m now adding to Gallery
5 along with a few words on the idea behind it. You are
welcome to check the piece out.

I’m planning to make “Blood of a Poet (Nabarze Deo)” hand-finished lithographic prints available later this week. Only 12 copies will go on sale, so keep your eyes peeled.

My friend Christopher
Walton - the magician behind British avant-garde act
Tenhornedbeast, – and yours
truly are working on a collaborative project, which explores the
most ancient, primal aspects of the blood vampirism phenomenon. I’ll
keep you posted on the progress of this exciting endeavor.

The previously mentioned book collaboration with my friend, a talented Argentinean illustrator Santiago Caruso, under the working title “Book of Night’s Veil” will probably be delayed for a number of reasons. On the bright side, now that we have more time on our hands the book will surely emerge as one-of-a-kind artifact revealing the anatomy of inspiration, delving deep into ancient philosophies and pulling the devil of the Occult by the tail. More on this later.

One of “Her Miserable Supper” hand-finished prints found its home in Paul Bland’s (British esoteric art connoisseur and collector) magnificent collection next to Austin Osman Spare’s and Daniel Schulke’s originals. Paul sent me a photograph of the framed piece enjoying the wonderful company and I felt like sharing the picture here:
